About me
I live in Portland, Oregon, and have been vegan since 2006. I spend my time away from work backpacking, reading, taking photos, snowshoeing, biking, baking, cooking, sewing, and loving birds (especially owls, because owls are super cool). I currently work in a law firm doing lots of math and shuffling of paper. Ideally, I’d like to do something else. Veganism became the obvious choice for me when I realized how strong my compassion for animals is.

Soooooo jealous that you live in Portland. Sounds like we have been vegan about the same amount of time!
Hi,
Thanks for the email. Nice to “meet” you.
Congrats on going vegan. I’ve been vegan for six years now.
I have to agree. I’m so jealous you live in Portland! I hope to visit there some day soon. =)
In the future are you going to post a picture of Julio?
I was very seriously thinking about moving to Portland, because of its awesome vegan and bicycle accessible reputation. Maybe I still will someday :) In the meantime I’ll just have to live vicariously through blogs like yours :) If you do facebook you can look me up (just email me to get my info).
Hi!
I was wondering if I could ask you about Portland and the vegan movement there? can I email you?
best,
Danielle

Hey! I just found your blog and love it!
Your pics are so fun!. I am fairly new to blogging, not veganism, and wondering if you would check out my blog if you have a chance and add me to your blog roll that’d be great to keep in touch :)

Thanks so much,

yay! another foodie who has a math(ie) day job… I also would like to do something else – apparently I can’t just travel, cook, photograph, blog and eat. that would be sweet though.
I’m so impressed with all that you and Tim are doing in the vegan world. I didn’t realize that Porland can be called the U.S. vegan capital. At this point I’m not cooking vegan foods but I will forward this to Lindsey who is mostly veatarian and will love this. You certanly make it all look very tempting!
Fondly,
Tim’s Aunt Paula
Hey Amy!
This is your cousin Michael. Julie gave me the link to this and I have to say, you’ve gotten me quite hungry with all of these food photos! I’m working now at Earlham College which is a *very* liberal Quaker college equipped with it’s own vegetarian and vegan cafeteria! It’s so fun trying these recipes since they’re real food and not the typical side salad that you have to get elsewhere. Anyway, I just wanted to stop by and say hello. Thanks to Facebook I’m back in touch with Alanna and I see Julie pretty much every time I go back to Erie. You are next, lady!
Talk to you later!
~Michael (okay, Michael Paul)
I like your socks.
Wow. This keeps getting more exciting. The donut eyes, the red bug, and the set design for the food are great. I was touched to see some potholders I gave you as display items and chagrined to see that my not straight stitching lines show up with your keen photography. Didn’t we see haystack rock together once walking the beach at Manzanita?
Hey! It’s Lindsey, Tim’s cuz. I’m glad to see you are doing very well. The other day I was thinking of you. During dinner prep, I was cooking chicken for my boyfriend (I have to cook two meals sometimes) and I almost got sick. I can’t touch meat any more. I’m def not vegan but seem to be on the way as days go on.
