  1. I just got a review copy of this, and I can’t wait to be done with my 3-week cleanse so I can start trying recipes!! So please don’t include me in the contest. I just wanted to say how awesome I know this book is!!

  2. I really like FFV’s recipe for an easy potato soup. Add some carrots and Irish soda bread and it’s a pretty delicious meal.

  3. i’d be so thrilled to win this. the memory of new-year’s-eve seitan bourguignon over homemade pasta is fresh in my mind…definitely hearty as all get-out.

  4. a good soup or stew, especially right now in the winter. I made roasted root veggies soup with collards and white beans tonight that was yummy.

  5. My favorite hearty meal is nachos. My base is chips, then I add beans, ‘no heat’ jalapenos, tomatoes, avocado, and a homemade ‘cheese’ sauce made with tahini and nooch. If I don’t have those things, I might thin out some hummus and add that to the nachos. Always good and very filling!

  6. Like others above, chili is the first to pop into my head! My standby recipe is from The New Moosewood Cookbook that I’ve been making for years. I love the texture the bulgar wheat adds!

  7. Thick squash soup with a side of warm cornbread and broccoli or brussels sprouts! Your pictures are always great (the Pesto Pea-Damame Soup in this post, in particular, but also your outdoor shots are lovely)!
