Do you remember when I reviewed a wonderful product called Xagave? Well, Robyn from BetterBody Foods & Nutrition has graciously offered to send one lucky reader a free 18-ounce bottle of Xagave! Nice huh? If you would like to participate in the giveaway, simply leave a comment telling me about your favorite use for agave nectar (recipes are always a good idea!). I know lots of us are planning to bake up a few storms with the onset of the holidays and some free agave nectar would certainly make life a bit sweeter, right? Right. Oh, and please make sure to leave your comment by Friday, December 4th. I will randomly select a winner on December 5th. Good luck everybody!!
Agave nectar makes pretty cupcakes:

Those cupcakes are adorable!
Those are cute cupcakes I really like to put agave in raw cookies.
I’ve never used agave before simply because it’s too expensive, but I would love to use it in brownies or chocolate cupcakes!
Nice rise on the cupcakes! I use agave in most of the places that I used to use maple syrup. Although it’s expensive, it’s a lot cheaper than maple syrup.
i’ve never used agave, but i’d like to try it. maybe in tea.
It’s simple, but I like to put a little in my tea. Yum!
Apple buckle! Like coffee cake but better. Agave helps keep the sugar content natural, less refined, and easier to digest. I want some!
I enjoy using agave nectar’s in Susan’s Pumpkin Pie Bites (fatfreevegan.com).
I like to use it in place of the honey I used to use for baking – cupcakes, breads, etc.
I love some agave stirred into oatmeal with berries and walnuts…yum…!
i like to use it for a few things including marinades (when a sweetener is needed) or granolas, but my favorite thing to do is to make muesli. when i was in Germany the people i stayed with would mix yogurt, a little milk, sugar, rolled oats, shredded apples, mandarin oranges, raisins and various nuts/seeds and call it muesli. so good! you let it set for a bit so that the oats get a little softer.
oh, and, obviously, i use agave in the place of the sugar…
I love using agave for homemade granola/energy bars! Its also great in cookies, breads, oats… its so versatile!
I use it in my tea every morning! Nothing better to bring out the flavour of herbal teas!
I love using agave in my coffee, tea, and oatmeal. It’s also great for homemade salad dressing. :)
My favorite use is in agave-mustard dressing… SO GOOD!
your agave sweetened cuppies look so pretty, Amy! yay! i’d have to say that my favorite use for agave is in a tasty sweet ‘n sour sauce for stir-fry. so yum!
I like to use agave nectar in candy — particularly macadamia caramel clusters (drizzled with dark chocolate), which I’ve blogged about before. Yum!
Ohhh…I’m new to using agave nectar! We started using it because our son is on a gluten free/casein free diet and we need to limit his sugar intake as well…..I’m looking for new and unusual recipes to use it in…thus coming across this blog!
I have never tried agave nectar, but would love to! If I’m the lucky winner this will be my very first treat to try….
Greek Yogurt with Agave Nectar and Pecans
(Makes 1 – 2 servings, depending on whether you’re having it after a large meal.)
1 container Greek yogurt 5-6 oz.
1 T agave nectar (the amber variety of agave nectar will taste most like honey)
about 10 pecans or walnuts, coarsely chopped
Run a knife around the outside edge of the yogurt inside the container, then invert container over a plate so yogurt comes out upside-down. Drizzle amber agave nectar over yogurt, then sprinkle with nuts. Serve immediately.
i’m a fairly new user of agave–i picked some up in my local grocery once, started baking w/it, loved it, bought more. however it has recently gone up in price, and i’m on a tight budget, so i’ve been managing without. i’m a single mother of a five-year-old, and it is very important to me to raise him healthy. the best part is, he loves everything i make for him!
oh….my favorite thing to use agave in is gingerbread. i actually use the recipe for your ‘ginge-o-ramas’, except i bake it as bread instead of cookies. anyone who has tried it thinks it is the most amazing gingerbread they have ever had. i’m dying to bake another batch for the holidays, so having agave would be such a treat!
I love love love making honey mustard with it.
Agave, grapeseed oil veganaise, and dijon; can’t beat it.
I also enjoy a little in my anise fennel caraway tea or in Susan’s (Fat Free Vegan Kitchen) double layer pumpkin cheesecake that I made on Thanksgiving. OHH endless possibilities
