When Boredom Strikes at Work

I am plenty busy at work, but some days I find myself drifting off to places that keep me from being productive (meaning the internet). Today was a perfect example of low work output. Perhaps it was the lure of the clouds before the sun appeared or the cookies I had for my lunch dessert that I craved as a mid-morning snack… Who knows? Often when I am clicking around on the internet I visit blogs, as most of us do, right?! Well, Jennifer from Veg*n Cooking and Other Random Musings posted an alphabet-ish meme not too long ago, and those are sometimes fun, so here goes:

A – Age: 32

B – Bed size: Double (or nothing… Hahaa… Get it?!)

C – Chore you hate: Washing dishes

D – Dogs’ names: I grew up with a Bichon named McDuff and when I was really little, a Great Dane named Tara

E – Essential start your day item: A smoothie

F – Favorite color: Brown

G – Gold or Silver or Platinum: I hate jewelry

H – Height: Just under 5’2″

I – Instruments you play: I played the clarinet in 6th grade and I was in handbell choir in my church growing up, but I don’t play any instruments now.

L – Living arrangements: Apartment

M – Mom’s name: Mom

N – Nicknames: Noddle, Mitts, Lil’ Nutmeg, Conseener, Ammo

O – Overnight hospital stay other than birth: Nope

Q – Quote from a movie: “It’s a damn shame when folks be throwing away a perfectly good white boy.” – Better Off Dead

R – Right handed or left handed: Right

  1. 6:23 eh? That is a pretty specific time don’t ya think? Although, I used to do stuff like that, just to eek an extra minute or two of sleep.

Oh, and there is nothing wrong with the occasional low productivity day at work. Sadly, I think I have more of those than actual productive days. I guess it goes with the territory of being lazy and disliking ones job?

  2. Will you make me a special pizza with cookies on top? Dessert pizza? Pizza cookies, maybe? Okay, just kidding. But I want to experience your specialties now. I will wash all your dishes for you – I love love love love washing dishes, for serious!
I’m with Jennifer: I have more low productivity days that actually productive ones as well. But I am talking about school. It’s all the addicting blogs’ faults! Once you read one you just can’t stop!!

  3. I too am a legal assistant! Of course, at my firm we really blend the lines between legal assistant / paralegal / secretary / personal assistant / gofer / servant. So the similarities between our jobs could be limited. Or maybe all law firms work like that?

  4. I am actually not around books very much. I mostly do web design and java programming to support the library’s services. Not traditional but very fun :)

Give capers a try! They are tasty. I always associate them with fish, and I hated fish even when I did eat meat, so this was a nice mental shift.
