As I type, it is still Wednesday in Portland, so this ought to count as a W.I.P. post, right? Right. For the past several years, I have been very into making my own cards to give away to family and friends. This post is dedicated to the art of card making (briefly and quickly).
The essential tools:

Stacks of colored and patterned paper

Pens, pencils, crayons, markers, paintbrushes, scissors, glue, and paints

A good quality pencil sharpener
The above tools are helpful in creating stuff like this:

Hoots on a branch

Fishies

Santa Whale

Christmas Birdy

Chirpy Birds

More birds
That’s the joy of card making!

Your cards are amazing! I would really love to make my own cards, and I have made some embarassingly naive attempts. I have the ideas in my head, but they never seem to translate well to paper. What kind of paper do you use? Like some thinner and some thicker? I know, silly questions, but I’m so new to all this…
You should do a tute for us! A step-by-stepper! :) You know, in your copious free time!
Aww! I love them all :-) I made my niece a card for her second birthday- but yours put me to shame!
Stunning!!
I’m inspired to go be artsy now…
Those owls are too cute! I think that a handmade card is one of the best gifts anyone can receive because they know that you took time and effort (and love) to create it. Your friends are quite lucky to have such a talented baker and card-maker!
I loved my Santa Whale!! I named him Bob.
your cards are all so awesome, Amy! the themes, the colors you choose – wow! i especially love the whale & the chirpy birds!
your handmade cards are better than any ‘ol cards i’ve seen in stores – they’re adorable & absolutely lovely! how creative! wahooooooooo!
Love your cards – I am a cardmaker, too!
yay! i love your cards. the one you sent me was fabulous! we totally have it hanging up on our postcard mobile (hangs from the ceiling with alligator clips for cool postcards, etc).
I love all the birdy cards! I’m going through a bird phase right now.
I won’t even say what you know is on my mind.
